Comment Regarding Trade

After much discussion and expressing their desire to welcome Derek to their team this season as well as the 2012-2013 season, the Houston Rockets and Derek have negotiated a buyout.

Derek's desire to win a sixth championship is what drives him and will continue to drive him as he moves forward.

We thank the Houston Rockets front office for their interest, time and their absolute professionalism.

There will be no further comment at this time.

I just wanted to personally thank you for 5 amazing championships and your undying loyalty and total professionalism. In a town of flash and no substance - your work ethic and commitment where a sight to behold. The city of LA and all Laker fans will always love you Fish. Your an amazing player, an amazing leader and just a great human being and it always showed. Good Luck to you Fish and I hope you get your sixth championship, just not at he Purple & Gold's expense. After all he's done for and with the Lakers, Derek deserves the respect and decency of playing until he retires as a Laker. That is all I have to say.

Dear Mr. Fisher,

I am a huge Laker fan, always will be, and you have always been one of my favorite players. I greatly admire your dedication, drive, and hard work on the court as well as the way you carry yourself off the court. The way you represent Christ professionally inspires me to strive to follow Him in my daily actions.

I was devastated to discover that you were traded. I feel that you have done so much for the Laker organization both on and off the court. Just know that I still believe in you and know that you will only use this to work harder. I wish you luck in your future career and will have you in my prayers. I hope that your return to Staples Center will show you how much us Laker fans appreciate and support you still.

Derrick it was really sad to see you go all those great memories in L.A will never be forgotten just because your not a part of the lakers no more doesn't mean I am not a fan of you still.
